天然石の人口処理
ハンドメイドアクセサリーの素材として購入する天然石には、人工的に処理されている石が多く存在します。石によって処理方法は様々ですが、天然石と記述があっても処理されている場合もあると認識しておいた方が良いかもしれません。ハイジュエリーでは、宝石の美しさを人工的に引き出すと言う意味で「エンハンスメント処理/トリートメント処理」と呼びます。このページは、一般的な処理方法について、まとめています。
加熱処理（かねつしょり）
タイガーアイなどに含まれる鉄成分を熱処理し、鉱化作用を施したもの。
含浸処理（がんしんしょり）
無色の油や樹脂、鉛ガラスなどを注入しクラックなどの隙間を埋めて、透明度や耐久性を改善する目的で施されるもの。
圧縮処理（あっしゅくしょり）
石を砕いて圧力をかけて、樹脂を浸透させて固めたもの。割れやすい石の耐久性を向上させる為でもあります。
拡散処理/ベリリウム拡散処理（かくさんしょり）
他の元素を石の中に取り込む処理方法です。主に発色を良くする目的で施されます。
漂白処理（ひょうはくしょり）
石の表面のしみや、汚れを取り除く目的で施されます。
放射線照射処理（ほうしゃせんしょうしゃしょり）
色の改善を目的とした処理方法です。放射線を照射することにより、結晶の構造を変えて色合いを変えます。
着色処理（ちゃくしょくしょり）
色素を人工的に変える処理です。
コーティング処理
石の表面に、他の物質を蒸着させて色合いを調整します。
高温高圧処理（こうおんこうあつしょり）
高温高圧下に置くことで人工的に色の変化を起こさせます。
